Know a place through its people.

A landscape changes when you hear from someone who lives there. Through food, handwork and the rhythm of the seasons, we hope to build a closer relationship with the places we visit.

Beyond what is here, discover who is here.

Travel memories often hold a short conversation as vividly as a famous landmark: learning how to eat an ingredient, or hearing about the season while looking across a field. Small details of daily life bring a place closer.

We care about hosts' wishes and comfortable time together as much as the variety of experiences. We want to begin with a willingness to listen and learn, and build relationships that feel good for both visitors and hosts.

Stories we would like to hear.

Living with grassland: how people work with the land each day, their favourite views and the moments when they notice a new season, told in their own words.

From field to table: what people grow, how they cook at home and what they enjoy in season. Everyday meals can open a conversation about local life.

Handwork passed down: using tools and familiar materials. We are looking for opportunities to share long-standing practices together with the stories behind them.

Respect the everyday lives of your hosts.

Farmers and other local hosts have their own work and routines. We will confirm group sizes, visiting times and suitable activities so that welcoming visitors does not place an unreasonable burden on daily life.

An exchange does not mean spending every moment together. Time to talk, eat and rest separately all matter. Comfortable space between people is part of a good journey.

How to be a considerate guest.

Ask before taking photographs. Confirm permission for photographs of people, homes and workplaces, and for posting them on social media.

Keep to agreed places and times. Follow guidance in fields, pastures and workshops. Avoid independent visits and unplanned stops.

Ask when you are unsure. Listen to explanations before using tools, handling food or joining an activity.

Accept seasonal changes. Weather and work can change plans; that, too, is part of encountering local daily life.

Making conversation across languages.

We want visitors from overseas to understand the context of stories and local rules. Required languages, interpretation and the explanations available during an experience will be checked and announced before bookings open.

Language support varies by experience and is not guaranteed in every situation. We are preparing a consultation process where you can describe the conversations and activities you hope to enjoy.

Host profiles are still to come.

Specific farmers and guides will be introduced once hosting arrangements and permission to publish are in place. This page explains our approach to meeting people; it does not guarantee an encounter with any particular person.
